Think that things can't change because they never have? Think again.
Let’s get something straight: if you feel like nothing has ever changed for you, I’m not here to pat you on the back and say, “It’ll all be okay.” Because you’ve probably heard that before, and guess what? You've possibly been given some simple breathing exercises, or told to imagine things the way you want them to be, a sort of basement bucket coaching technique then no it probably wanted going to work.
And if it hasn't given you the results you’re craving...honestly, t’s not your fault. The way we’ve been taught to think about change is completely broken.
If you’ve never seen things get better.....that means it’s time to stop waiting, stop hoping, and start doing something different. This is your sign to challenge yourself. Life isn't a performance, it's real.
And, real change doesn’t happen because you sit around waiting for motivation to strike. Or wondering why the work you are doing isn't working.
It happens when you take bold, messy action—even when it feels uncomfortable. Especially when it feels uncomfortable. Want to go to the gym when it's dark, and wet and cold, and you know, it's so much easier to sit on the coach and watch a film under a blanket isn't it.
It's not easy. I'll say that again it's not easy. But it’s easier when you use hypnosis.
The truth is you have got to want to do the hard stuff. To be in it for the long term. Yes, it will be quicker if you decide that every day you are going to do one thing to get you closer to that gym.
And I use that example because that was me, still is me. After 6 months of being consistent the change is slow, imperceptibly slow, frustratingly slow, (definitely NOT Instagram worthy) but I keep going because I know that there IS change, in the right direction. Some days the blanket and Netflix are a powerful lure.
I know my Achilles heel is finding my kit and getting changed when it's cold, so I make a Ulysses pact with myself and I always have a gym kit ready in a bag and my shoes by the door.
I say to myself "I'm going to walk the gym and if I still don't feel like it then I've made the effort to get off the sofa". I always end up doing a session, sometimes shorter, but I do it.
It's not magic though sometimes it feels like it is
Here’s the truth: change isn’t about wishing things were different. It’s about making things different. And that starts with a fresh perspective and the right tools.
Why Things Haven’t Changed Yet
First, let’s talk about why things might not have improved in the past. Because understanding where things have gone wrong is key to making them go right.
- You’ve Been Sold the Myth of Willpower
We’ve been taught to believe that change is a matter of “trying harder” or “just wanting it enough.” Believe me I have wanted to drop a dress size so much, I feel heavy and I'm worried about my joints. But willpower ebbs and flows, When life gets stressful (as it always does), willpower is harder to draw on, and you end up back where you started. These are the days I am glad of my Ulysses pact.
Real, sustainable change doesn’t come from forcing yourself to be different. It comes from changing the underlying beliefs and habits that drive your behaviour. That’s where hypnosis comes in.
- You’re Stuck in the All-or-Nothing Trap
How many times have you set a goal, missed one day, and thought, “Well, I’ve ruined it now. Might as well give up.” This is why people cancel on me. One pudding at your friends birthday does not mean failure. I mean really, that's not real life.
This perfectionist mindset is a huge barrier to progress. Change isn’t about doing everything perfectly; it’s about showing up consistently, even if it’s messy. I say to my clients imagine that you are walking through a huge park and your victory column is at the other end. Some days you will walk some way, and others you might want to sit on the park bench and enjoy the view. It doesn't mean that you have gone back to the beginning. Just get off the bench the next day and keep going.
- You’ve Been Trying to Fix the Wrong Things
Most people focus on surface-level goals: lose weight, make more money, be less anxious. But these are just symptoms. The real issue lies deeper, in the subconscious patterns that keep you stuck. Until you address those, change will always feel like swimming against the tide.
And this takes time, it may happen in one session but often it doesn't - it happens usually between 4 and 10 sessions. And for deeper work like long term weight-loss goals, check-sessions monthly.
The Secret to Real Transformation
Here’s the good news: no matter how stuck you feel, change is always possible. But it requires a different approach.
- Start with Identity, Not Goals
Instead of setting resolutions like “I want to lose 10 kilos,” ask yourself, “Who do I want to become?” When you shift your focus to identity—“I’m someone who takes care of my body”—your actions naturally start to align with that vision.
Hypnosis is a powerful tool for this because it works directly with your the part of your mind that is capable of embedding new beliefs about who you are and what’s possible for you.
- Work with Your Subconscious, Not Against It
Your mind drives 95% of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours outside of your awareness. If you’re trying to change something consciously—like eating healthier or feeling more confident—without addressing this, it’s like paddling a canoe upstream.
Hypnosis helps rewire your brain so that your actions feel natural and effortless. It’s not about forcing yourself to change; it’s about making change feel like the obvious next step.
- Embrace the Power of Micro-Wins
Big changes don’t happen overnight. They’re built on small, consistent actions. Instead of focusing on the end result, celebrate every tiny step forward. Each one reinforces the belief that you’re capable of change.
For example, if your goal is to feel calmer, start with a two-minute breathing exercise each morning. It might not seem like much, but over time, these small actions compound into significant results. Hypnosis can help you embed these are automatic behaviours.
Hypnosis: The Ultimate Tool for Change.
Hypnosis often gets misunderstood as a party trick or a last resort. But in reality, it’s one of the most effective tools for creating deep, lasting change. Here’s why:
- It Targets the Root Cause
Hypnosis works by accessing the part of your mind where your core beliefs, habits, and behaviours are stored. By addressing these directly, it creates change at the deepest level.
- It’s Fast and Effective
Unlike traditional methods that can take months or years, hypnosis often delivers results sooner than a lot of other approaches, and makes them sustainable. It’s not about quick fixes; it’s about creating shifts that last.
- It’s Completely Tailored to You
Every hypnosis session is unique, designed to address your specific needs and goals. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, procrastination, or self-doubt, hypnosis meets you where you are and helps you move forward.
Stop Waiting. Start Changing.
If you’ve never seen things get better, it’s time to stop waiting for the perfect moment. There’s no such thing. The only way forward is to take action—messy, imperfect action.
Here’s How to Get Started:
Decide Who You Want to Become: Write down a clear, positive, specific statement about the kind of person you’re stepping into. For example, “I’m someone who speaks confidently and trusts their voice.”
Take One Small Step Today:
It doesn’t have to be big. Maybe it’s booking a hypnosis session, listening to a relaxation track, or journaling about your goals. The key is to start.
Commit to Consistency, Not Perfection:
Remember, it’s not about getting it right every time. It’s about showing up, again and again, until the change becomes second nature.
Reach Out for Support:
Change is hard to do alone. Whether it’s working with a hypnotherapist, joining a supportive community, or confiding in a friend, having someone in your corner makes all the difference.
The First Step Is Yours
If you’re ready to see what’s possible, hypnosis could be the tool that finally helps you break through. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to take the first step. Because change isn’t about waiting for things to get better. It’s about deciding to make them better—starting now.
